Hurricane Isabel (September 2003)

Hurricane Isabel hit the Richmond area pretty hard. Christine, Yukon, and I made it through pretty well -- we'd gotten together an emergency kit back when orange alerts were something to be noted, I picked up some ice prior to the storm, and we'd gotten a new grill earlier this summer. Nonetheless, when we looked around in the days after Isabel, we saw some pretty remarkable things, a lot of which are captured here.

Please keep in mind that Christine and I didn't go more than a couple of miles from our house for any of these pictures. Most were right in our neighborhood. Those of you looking at these from afar should keep in mind that the things you see in these photos were pretty common all over Richmond (and even beyond that-- all over Virginia and North Carolina).
